Some of you here have already known that Thermostat is a device for regulating the temperature of a system. The thermostat is used to control the flow of heat energy into or out of the system. Furthermore, a thermostat can be a control unit for a heating, cooling system or a component part of a heater or air conditioner. The best part about thermostats is they can be constructed in many ways, where is use a variety of sensors to measure the temperature.
What will happen, if you combine the Arduino and thermostat together? Yep, you’ll get a new “ThermoSmart” here! This Thermostat consists: An Arduino (Duemilanove), an Arduino Ethernet Shield, a temperature sensor, a relay, transistor, resistors, diodes and much more.
Don’t be fooled by the above components, as this project is quite easy to be developed here! Since ThermoSmart is a web controlled and monitored device, thus it can work well in auto and manual mode. Via the web interface, the user can be quickly informed over local network or internet about the current temperature, heating status and threshold levels.
