Nixie clock with RGB LED backlight

Nixie clocks add nice touch to living or working place. They look, great especially with unusual design. Akafugu brought new breeze in to nixie clock club. He decided to add RGB LED backlight that adds even more beauty. He’s chosen Russian IN-12 Nixie tubes that as we know require about 180V to light up. So he made a step-up voltage regulator that rises voltage from 9V DC to high voltage.

Clock circuit is based on Atmega328P microcontroller. It reads time values from DS3231 Real time Clock (RTC), drives RGB LED backlight and reads rotary knob and button for controls. Clock building process is well documented and is open source. IF you like it – shouldn’t be a problem to build one.
