Digital scale LCD driven by Arduino with USB host shield

At first you may be wandering, why bother adding LCD to digital scale? And why there isn’t any at all… digital scale in this project is special one (Model 510 5lb from stamps.com) which is used to measure items and then automatically upload value to workstation via USB. Scale takes accurate measurements up to 5lb. So this is worth effort to making standalone version. The problem is that in order to get scale data you need attach it to USB. Oleg used his Arduino USB Host Shield to connect to scale.

Then once data has been read, weight information is displayed on 2×16 LCD module. Scale is recognized as HID device which sends packed responses that carry weighting information. Code then parses data to human readable form.
